Here's the beautiful indian that I made ugly Sunday...

This was about 8 inches from the beautiful 2 cent piece I found Sunday. As you can see the ground is pretty nice to copper in this particular park. I found a fatty indian here a couple of years ago that looked almost as good as this one and you know how ugly they get! Anyway, I'm thinking I knocked about $49 off this $50 coin by getting in too big of a hurry.

Oh, man. That had to hurt. Beautiful coin otherwise!

It sure was a beauty.... Did that to a 1922 Peace in hard gravel.... Figured it was another piece of junk......

That nice of an Indian and you had to scratch it. Why couldn't it have been a Clad Coin instead is sometimes what I ask myself when I do such a thing to a nice keeper. We all do it at one point in time so we feel your PAIN. Better Luck next time. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH.

in half with a shovel once. I was by myself so no one saw me go into the fetal position and cry like a baby for 10 minutes. The first and only one I have ever found.

We all do it at one time or another. I gouged an uncirculate 1891 Seated dime, because it was in a wash out area and I KNEW it couldn't be a coin at only 1" deep. So I hastily dug through the dirt/pebbles and scraped the liberty right through the shield. No, I couldn't hit the back, or the rim. I had to knick the liberty right off of the shield! And this happened some twenty years ago, and is STILL fresh in my memory. So don't kill yourself over the Indian. Who knows, maybe this lesson will stick with you and that gold coin will be pristine, because you dug carefully!!:)

I would get some copper flavored Bondo and make it a worth about 15 cents. Sorry, Just had to say that. It will still look good in your collection Mister.
