Here's the results from this past weekend. Enjoy!

Here are the results from this past weekend's hunt that everyone has been waiting for. I'm sure I could of had more but I, Dale, Tim, and Dan only went to 2 locations on Saturday and passed up a lot of Towns we haven't been to yet. The others did pretty good with everyone finding Silver. Dale finally found some Barber with 2 Dimes, a Fishscale, a 2 1/2 Cent Token, and a bunch other finds. Tim found yet another Walker and also a Token. Dan found a Silver Quarter along with a few other Silver and a bunch of Wheats. We asked permission for 1 site and the people were so nice, they offered a Key to the House on the property to stay in, free of charge. They told us to go ahead and stop by anytime and bring the family down if you want to stay for the weekend. We found some Coins here at this site so I am sure we will be back to take them up on the generous offer. These were the nicest folks we have ever gotten permission from. Now just to go back and either hit the surrounding Towns or pound that site more. Everyone was talking about getting Barber on the way and I finally spoke up and told the guys, "you can have the Barber, I'm going straight for Seated". Got to the 1st site and found 2 Wheats and got a strong 28 Signal registering close to the Surface. This spot had a few Bicycle Jumps built so it was already dug up. I took the Lesche Digger and dug down about 2" and removed the dirt. I seen what appeared to be a Screw cap and was disappointed. I picked it up and said, "wait a minute, that's not a Screw cap!". I looked at what I thought was the back and couldn't really tell what it was with all the dirt on it but thought it was a Seated. I then flipped it over and I was right. I found where the Date would be and carefully removed the dirt so not to scratch it. The Date appeared and it was 1876. I walked over to Tim and told him I just found Seated. We were there maybe 15 minutes and he says, "you did". I then handed it to him and told him, "I told you I was going to start off with Seated first!". I think he may have been a little shocked to see my pull my first Silver and it being a Seated like I predicted. He told me, "I knew there was Seated here". That was the only Seated Coin found there but there is a lot of Private Property that we would have to get permission for to find more. I'm sure we will be back to that spot again. After Clean-Up on the Seated Quarter, I noticed it had been hit by something, most likely from the previous digging to make the nearby BMX Jumps. Oh Well! At least I know I didn't hit it and also I will take anything Seated, Damaged or not. I also went back on Sunday Afternoon to that Fairgrounds where last year I was digging tons of Silver and slapped on the Joey Coil. I tried a dug up area with it and found 2 New Pennies and 2 Wheats. I then went back over where I was finding everything last year and first off dug a Merc. Then I dug a couple Wheats and then a Silver Rosie. Then found a couple more Wheats and before I left, I found the 1864 Indian Head at about 7". This was weird since I POUNDED this area so hard last year, that I really didn't think I would find anything. I think the moisture content in the ground this time had something to do with it. Most Coins were found around the 6" Mark. Very Junky Ground with a lot of short 22 Shells which is the reason it is very hard to get these Coins. The Joey still pulls more Goodies for me, all within an Hour. Now onto what I found. I found my 10 Silver this weekend. They were a 1876 Seated Quarter, 5 Mercury Dimes dated 1924-d,1941,1942,1944-d,1945, and 4 Roosevelt Dimes dated 1946-d,1956-d,1963, and 1964-d. I also found a Saq. Dollar Dated 2000-P. For Indian Heads, I found 4 dated 1864,1890,1901, and 1904. The rest of the finds will be posted shortly in Part:2. Thanks for looking. Good Luck and HH to you all. [attachment 88190 DirtySilver.jpg][attachment 88189 CleanedSilver.jpg][attachment 88179 DirtyDollar.jpg][attachment 88193 CleanedDollar.jpg][attachment 88194 DirtyIndians.jpg][attachment 88195 CleanedIndians.jpg]

Here's the rest of the finds from the weekend. I found 47 more Wheat Pennies with 2 better Dates, being 1911-s and 1924-d. Here's the dates on the rest. 09,(2)10,11-s,14,16,18,18-d,(5)19,19-s,20,24-d,27-d,28,29-d,35,36,36-d,40-d,41-d,42,(2)42-d,44,(4)44-d,44-s,(2)45-d,(3)46-d,(2)47-d,(2)48-d,53-d,55-s,56-d,57-d, and the bent Wheatie that is a 194?-d. For Misc. Items, I found an Old Pocket Knife with Jim something on it, an Old Pin, a Flag Pin, a Skull, a Junk Bracelet, and a Religious Medallion that says I Am Lutheran on the back. That does it for the finds. Until next time, Good Luck and HH to you all and thanks for looking.[attachment 88209 11-sand24-d.jpg][attachment 88212 DirtyWheats.jpg][attachment 88217 CleanedWheats.jpg][attachment 88207 DirtyMisc..jpg][attachment 88208 CleanedMisc..jpg]

Ok, what a dig, Thats awesome James. I told the wife I'm going no matter what happens this weekend. I had my heart set last weekend and it was snowing and im a woose when it comes to cold and wet. Someday soon you will see some dirt I dig up guys. Hopefully this coming sunday I'll post something. I have a site picked out from the 1900 a old grange that my school district turned into a school for the ruff kids that have a hard time in high school. I think they call it a alternative school. Thanks James for taking all the time to share your catches.

I look forward to your post on that School Site. Should be some nice finds waiting to be found. Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

You were right on that token in my "crap" picture. My buddy also let me know not to throw it away...so I dug it out of the trash:detecting:

there is always someone willing to pay for them even if they are common ones. Also, do not throw away Dog Tax Tags, Railroad Baggage Tags, Watch Fobs, and other interesting finds. Some are worth more than you realize. Especially Pre-1900 Dog Tax Tags. Glad to hear you didn't chuck that Token. Thanks again and Good Luck and HH on your next hunt.

Sure was an Eye Popper when I realized that Seated Quarter on Saturday. And then got that 1864 Indian Head on Sunday with the Joey Coil, which was a shocker since I didn't think that there was that old of Coins in that Fairgrounds. Just goes to show you never know what a person will discover next at an Old Site. Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

I'll try and keep the Silver to a minimum so you can catch up.:bouncy: Suppose to Rain tomorrow and possibly even get Snow on Friday, but I hope not! Now just to get that Ellusive Seated Half that I have been hoping for. I still haven't found even a Franklin Half since 2001 but there has to be one somewhere. Hope your weather turns around for the better so you can get out and do some hunting of your own. Until then, just keep your eyes peeled on the forum for everyone else's great finds. Good Luck and HH when you get back into the swing of things.:detecting:

James,

As always, very impressive display of coins you've picked up there. Always amazed the the quantity of old coins you can pull out of the ground on a given weekend.

:clapping:

Sent you a PM as to not get those post off topic.

I'll be looking for your post to see if you nabbed a Seated. Thanks for looking at my post and Good Luck and HH to you.:detecting:

I'll take a look at your PM. The Old Coins are out there waiting for some Lucky Detectorist to swing there Coil over, it just takes a little Research to find the spots that hold these Coins still. Thanks again and Good Luck and HH. :detecting:

James,
