HEY Mine Lab......When are you going to make an Explorer with a faster processor????

I don't know about you guys, but a faster Explorer would be the cat's meow for me.

I have an ETrac and although it's faster than my SE's, I can't honestly say it's better or anywhere close to being it's replacement. They changed too much of the Explorer platform for my tastes. If they just made the Explorer with a faster recovery rate, without remapping the conductive scale, all of us would benefit hugely.

If the only changes made to the SE were a faster recovery speed and a new audio option like "inverse audio deep" : meaning that when that audio option was chosen (just like for example choosing audio long), with "inverse audio deep" chosen.... the deep targets would sound off loud and the shallow targets faint. I think we would all find a great deal more awesome finds in heavily, trashy sites because of the faster recovery rate as well as deeper finds in general because of the "inverse audio deep" option.

I would most definitely buy a "faster" Explorer (and yes, I know it wouldn't be a ETrac:rofl::clap:), and I would live with "the weight" and "the glare" issues. Just give me a faster Explorer without mucking it up into something else.

Would anyone else like to see a more or less unchanged, other than, faster Explorer??? With just MINOR software changes, but basically a true Explorer platform. Help me out here in letting Mine Lab know that there is a definite market for such a machine by posting your replies and then I will send the whole thread to them in an email, and maybe they will make us a new Explorer.:twodetecting:

Rebalance the weight of the MD. That's the only thing I would like to see improved. Else I'm totally satisfied.:detecting:

Yeah a faster Explorer would be nice.... I would like to that, plus something similar the Whites "BIGFOOT" coil... My buddy kicks my butt whenever we hunt a large open field looking for clad with his XLT :veryangry: lol But i also don't mind hunting slow.... I kick his A$$ when we are old coin hunting for sure :detecting: lol
Good luck everyone!!!!

An XLT kick Minelab butt, That'll never happen if the Minelab Explorer or E Trac is used properly. Using a Slow & low travelling speed & using full variable tones instead of the tortoise like smart & digital screens is the way to go with the E Trac / Explorer. Oh and keep the screen pretty open, lol. Patterns are Taboo if you want to find plenty.

Haha..I beat you to it, but the message is the same. Everyone should speak up and tell Minelab what we want. It's not an engineering feet like detecting a coin at 24"... we just want it faster and better balanced... COME ON!!

I have only had an Explorer, so I am not even aware of balance.....I picked up RH Bobs DFX and was it ahhhh at the balance and how erganomic it was....and he said all whites are like that.....so yeah...Balance the Explorer and make my year a little easier and more enjoyable. Make a well balanced Explorer and I will purchase it. I am hanging on tight to my XS till something worth more comes out...and Balance is it!

I would like to see an option that instead of creating a custom coin pattern you can run wide open but bench test and choose targets that are preferred and mark those with a different sound. so you run a 1 dollar gold coin over the coil hit a button and if you hit that in the Field in makes a unique sound but you could still hunt wide open and pick and choose whether you want to dig the other tones. it would be like creating a pattern with out the nulling out of possable good targets.

I said he kicks my butt hunting for "CLAD" Tony,,, Because He can move across a football field alot faster than i can,,,,,, I also said i put it to him while old coin hunting!!!!! I have the Explorer figured out pretty well!!!!!!!!

I think Minelab would've sold a lot more units (vs. the E-Trac) if they had tweaked the Explorer software and made it as fast as the F75, because the universal complaint about the Explorer line is speed. It would seem that if you fix that, you're golden in the industry. Instead they made a fast machine, but eliminated the parts Explorer folks love.

So come on Andy, give us a wink and a nod that a faster Explorer is on the horizon. It won't hurt E-Trac sales; I promise!

PERSPECTIVE:
I can remember twenty years ago wishing that I could find a coin with my White's that was deeper than 4 inches and older than 1954.
All I can say is that I am extremely happy to be a lucky convert to the Minelab Explorer II, and that I trust Minelab is doing everything possible to produce great detectors for all of us. They do not benefit from making junk and while I hear the E-Trac is not a significant improvement :stars: over what most were using....it is what it is, an improvement. Having only 3 months of time using my explorer II, I know I have alot to learn, so when they come out with the next model...the X-Y or Z-Trac, it will without a doubt address alot of these issues and be better...but probably not perfect. Perhaps all those FBS signals is a trade-off for blazing fast processor speed??? Now for my big complaint... WHY Can't they make one with a coil that melts snow and thaws the ground, all in a 2-3 second sweep? Come on MINELAB........GET WITH IT. OH, YEAH DONT FORGET A HEATED HAND GRIP, AND CUP HOLDER.

They and their field testers watch these and other forums. To not suggest improvements because the Explorer II is better than your Coinmaster 3900 is kkkeeeerrraaazy . Tell 'em what you think, man! To give the EXII the same speed accomplished on the F75/F70 ..... OH GOD, PLEASE!!! :wiggle:

I'd send $1500 tomorrow for that one!

Ive went over the Etrac and i have to say, for me, there were a lot of changes that i wanted to see. When i picked up the SE i said why cant both of these screens be combined, why cant i know what the machine is setting its auto sensitivity at, why cant we aline more of these darn good targets on the screen and lastly... change the con with the ferr. I liked the changes. As far as going slower than the whites for clad, true i cant cover as much ground, but the down side to that with my DFX was i tended to "TAKE MY DETECTOR FOR A WALK" and not hunt properly after long hunts. I dont hunt as much for clad any more. Not to mention that wonderfully balanced machine made my elbow hurt like hell. I get tard of that horrid null too... but hasnt the new coil been a blessing?
