Today I spent nearly 3 hours hunting one slope of a hill in a park. My first good find was a 1917S Mercury dime. A 1913 Wheaty also confirmed there were old coins on the hill. I went to work. Soon my efforts were rewarded with an 1875 Indian Head cent - my first one for 2010! It was near the base of a giant tree. Soon my detector was singing and I dug a 1909 Barber dime. Next I found another Indian Head cent that has a thick layer of green corrosion on both sides. Not sure what the date is...maybe 1904. I'll have to try to clean that one up. I finished up with a couple more Wheat cents. One was a 1925 and the other was from the 50's. I also found modern coins and the usual garbage. It was a good time. Dan
