Holy Rusted Headphones Batman...???

ferdware

New member
Hello to all.
I have had my V3i for just one year now. The metal rods for adjusting the fit of the headphones are beginning to rust.. I have the cordless headphones and they cost like $300 or $400. I should not be having this problem...
Is this happening to anyone else?

Yes I do mostly beach hunting, but Whites should account for that.

I have my head phones for almost 2 yrs and they look just like they came out of the box Through rain, snow ,beach not a spot of rust

The good news is that there is another year warranty left on them. Maybe some kind of protectant could be put on to help protect them in the future from salt spray.

My Silverado cost about $50,000 and after a year at the beach it would be showing signs of rust too. I would think the WHP would have to be cleaned after each beach hunt just like the detector needs to be cleaned. Salt and metal don't mix.

Lets hear from the beach hunters.

Neither did I, but Chevy does.

Well....the AC does make it worth it then.

Getting back to topic. I worked in the boat industry for years and found that most metal has issues with salt.....even 18 stainless. (Sea Salt is a harsh compound.) To get it back to "better", polish it back to bright and wax it. I'm pretty sure that those parts have a chrome plating....so go easy, good enough "mode"/ low abrasive polish. (Keeping the polish off the black parts!)

Now THAT is funny!

ferdware can you send a pic of the HP so we can see the type of HP and see the rust, Thanks , Mickfin

Micfin, I apologize for not getting back to this sooner. I ended up just rubbing them down with never dull then waxing them. They look fine now.
Thanks
