How much is a 1945-P nickel worth?

Melt is about $1.16 at todays silver price. http://www.coinflation.com/coins/1942-1945-Silver-War-Nickel-Value.html
may be more if condition is good selling to a collector.

With the up and down of silver over the last couple of years, it seems a lot of dealers bought a lot of silver coins at higher prices and are hanging on to them because they would lose money. We have a bit of difficulty finding them for club hunts especially at present prices of silver. Of course maybe many were melted down. I don't sell any of mine usually but recently the club needed some dimes so I sold 50 rosies for the club Xmas party at $1.50 each. Actually traded them for 3 years of membership fees. Anyway, I would keep them. Silver will go back up.

nagov I thought a War nickel had NO copper so the war could make bullets????
