Hunt 2.5 - Some Deeper targets, silver coin, silver rings and more

What can I say, wow, what a fun day - 5.5 hours. In two days with the E-Trac I have found my deepest finds, by far. I had like 4 targets at 7" today. My deepest target was a locket like thing at 9" or so. Had my best day for coins ever. Not including clad I had 26 coins from 1875 (Silver DMark) with most of them being from 1950 to 1990. Sorry, clad here to me is the Euro cent. Most of these coins were 4" - 5" or so deep and hit very well. Regarding digging really deep coins - I get the feeling when I dig soil that drains better and is more conductive to halos or the like, that I'll get even better depth as this place is muddy at times. The detector chose channel 9 btw.

I also found my first American coin ever! A 1995 Penny in N

Thanks for the video. I'll bet your glad you didn't wait until next spring to get one now......;o) Now you know what all the hype is about.......Lol

Great Finds and Great Video
The 1875 DMark is very impressive
And finding 2 silver rings and a silver coin in one hunt is AMAZING

I may have missed it but what made you get the ET and do you ever use your V31 any more?

Regards and HH

Thanks Guys

Bill - Yeah, I had wondered about the "hype" and now I know. And yes, glad I didn't wait. Even if Minelab comes out with a new machine next year, at least I'm learning the sounds.

Banditicey - Yeah, it was a great day and silver coins are pretty rare in Germany from my experience. I haven't given up on the V3i completely, just trying out the E-Trac and I would like to compare them. I moved to the E-Trac as I had wondered about it for years and had to find out for myself how good it was and I'm a believer thus far, results don't lie. It's like when I had a T2 for years and then after trying the Omega one weekend I sold the T2 as the Omega was just better on coins, less money and all. I did have the V3i here 2X but wasn't finding the older and deeper stuff. I can't believe the V3i won't go 7" here though but I do know the machine pretty well so am stumped. I'll have to bring both to the spot as targets do abound really and use my golf tees and compare targets, looking for deepies. I found 4 silver rings with the V3i there in 2 short hunts but the E-Trac just seemed to pick out more coins and that is with me learning the sounds - But I must say I picked up on the sounds within the first hunt. The V3i is clearly a top machine and has many more features than the E-Trac but I don't mind the simplicity of the E-Trac (Yes, after using the V3i the E-Trac is simple! And that isn't a knock.) I do with the backlight got brighter on the E-Trac. Wish the buttons stuck out a bit more too. Wish I could change settings a bit quicker using shortcuts. But outside that I just love the E-Trac and I NEVER THOUGHT I'D SAY THAT. Really, I stayed away from the E-Trac for years! LOL

BTW - I have hunted a total of 10hrs with the Sanyo 1900mAh batteries and I'm still seeing 2 bars but I imagine that will drop off soon? I'll report back how many hours of use I get, mostly at higher sensitivity settings and with the backlight.

Amazed at the E-Trac,
Albert

Are you going to be able to get your camera mount to work on the Etrac? If you do can you post some pics here as I think I am going to buy the magic arm and try to make it work on mine.
