Hunting Last Weekend with the MXT

It was a fantastic weekend to hunt. My oldest coin was an 1885 Indian cent and it was also the oldest U.S. coin for the weekend. YIPPEE!!!! YES, I beat Larry for the oldest coin! :clapping: Also found an old silver ring, 2 small toy guns, 1896 Indian cent, 16 wheat cents and a handful of clad. The day before the hunt, I found a 1957-D (good year)quarter, 1918 dog tag and a ring with "Chicago at Brookfield, ILL" on the top of it along with a Panda. I'll have to do some research on that one. I would think meaning the Brookfield Zoo, but there's no "ZOO" on it. I've tried to research it, but have come up empty. Thanks for looking and HH, Nancy

Thew one silver ring was so old, it didn't have any markings on it. That means it pre-dates 1920's. Thanks and HH, Nancy

10+ years on your mxt says a lot for whites machines. Have you ever had to send it in for anything Nancy?
 
Thank you. I've had to send it in just this year for a tune-up. For some reason, it just didn't want to tell me what I was targeting in on. Now it works PERFECT again for such a small price. Thanks and HH, Nancy

All that good stuff & not one buff, what a shame. When you sent your MXT in what did they do? just wondering mine has never been sent in for anything. It seems to be working ok so I don't know if a tune up is needed.
 
Hi Bula, Yeah, I know. No buffalo nickels. :thumbdown: Thanks for the reminder. LOL. As for the MXT, it wasn't targeting nor identifying anything right. Not even a quarter that was on top of the ground. :thumbdown: Whites took care of that when they recalibrated the unit. It runs like a fine watch now.

Nancy, mine is still running good I can crank it up & still works well so I guess I don't need to send it in yet. As for doing good ? frozen ground & forcast is for 15 below not much diggin in that stuff. Keep LArry in line & you two have fun.
 
Nope, you don't need to send it in yet. OMG, it's cold there. :surrender: Stay in and stay warm. Do your research and make many friends. Preferably with huge old virgin yards. :devil: You take it easy up there in that area and keep warm. Good hearing from you! As for Larry, he behaves himself and he's not too hard to control. ;). A nice bunch of cool finds. Love the Mercury dime and silver quarter. Always a thrill to find silver and older coins. Only ones I find are dropped by little kiddies during show and tell sessions.
 
Thanks EasySwing, Hey you can't beat those "show and tell" coins. Larry found a gold 20 Franc burried deep in the playground. It had to of been there for quite a few years. Now he wears it around his neck. :bouncy: HH, Nancy
