Does anyone know any trick to hunting a yard that has one of those "Invisble Dog Fences" I have tried noise cancelling, switching channels lowering sensitivity etc. I find you get constant squeals and blips. I am at a loss to know what to do.
Tony....
Only thing you can do is ask the owner to turn off the fence. I have one in my yard and if I turn it off it's fine. The wire is just a small copper wire going around the circumference of the yard and doesn't give off much of a signal. It's basically a huge antenna that is throwing out radio frequencies for the collar.
I've never been able to overcome that problem on the smaller yards. On bigger yards, some of these you've tried will work. Asking the owner to turn off the fence is the best idea. The only thing that did not try, was going with a smaller coil. My pick up less EM. If you have a smaller coil, you can give that a shot and adjust the settings as well.

Well that is an idea to try smaller coil, the owners did not seem willing to turn it off as I mentioned that cutting power off would eliminate the problem.
Yep, sounds familiar - I had to leave a great looking old house thatI got permission to hunt up in Maine two years ago because of a wireless fence system.
Couldn't get the E-Trac from jumping all over the place - ended up packing up and leaving after only being their for ten minutes.
My moms neighbor, also a cousin of ours ..placed his wire on our property 25ft into our yard and 400 ft long and the side of the yard was not in detectable because of it... and local ordnance says you can't go any closer than 10 ft from you're property line with dog containment systems and he would not move it.. so I "accidently" cut it..... Oops!!!! e.m.i problem solved! He seems to think he owns the property but the survey pins say othewise.. his bad

Our neighbor has an underground fence, too. He offered to let me hunt his yard, but I have yet to take him up on it. And not because of the fence. Because of the dog turds. Underground fences keep dogs in a confined area, and so are their droppings.
