I finally broke into the 1700's:spin:

Gday :ausflag:

Yesterday I went hunting for the 3rd time in a week at this site on private land
I travelled with Mark who also used his Etrac again.
I had a slow start using TTF again but picked up a small silver coin and that got me off the mark.
I reworked a slope that we had both been over quickly before and got a 03.47 ....out came a 1797 Cartwheel Penny (King George III) with iron alongside it.
A coin that I never seriously thought I had much chance of finding
Our state was founded in 1836 so it must of came out on one of the immigrant ships or overland.
Other items = 1898-9 dog registration tag, Pennys 1867 & 1910, 1910 sixpence, 1854 Penny, musket ball and an amethyst and clear stone pendant .

Whooo hooo 1797 ...you little beauty  the poor old coin is very well travelled but I'll take it
They are 36mm dia and weigh 1 ounce of pure copper
happy swinging

Congrats Terra. It's very rare to crack the 1700's over here! I saw one of those a couple of years back. They sure are a large coin.
Mick Evans.

Well done! Very good for you. That coin looks to be about the size of our dollar coins. Congratulations on the finds. The rifle cartridge looks to be a .303 Enfield...just guessing.
