need feedback on different coils u have put on ur excalibur (i have the xcal 800)

i have an excal2 with the 10"coil.....whats good about the Tornado???

I think it is the same as what you have. Like critterhunter said you have a lot of options. A lot of coverage and sensitivity to small targets and depth is what all of them claim but the experienced hunters that use the large coils seem to favor the WOT in and out of the water. Good quality connectors seems to make or break performance in a coil change. Good luck. Keep us posted. HH :minelab:

The Sunray S-12 is large in area, but has a smallish frame and light weight to swing around in the water with .....Less resitance than most coils it's size .....I bought one for my Excal , and decided to use it on an older Sovereign and waterproof it .....GREAT COIL .....Seems a lot bigger than just a 12 " coil ......Jim

I just finished up a sunray S-12 coil swap on my Excalibur using bulgin connectors.
I have to say Im vary pleased with the S-12 feels lighter than stock coil.

The reason why you see more WOT or S12 coils on Excals is 'cuz they have been out for many more years than the new 12x10 and 15x12 coils. I found the 15x12 to be too much drag for my tastes in the water. Haven't tried my 12x10 in the water yet but it can't be any worse than my 10" coil or a S12. I know somebody who hunts beaches a lot and they use the 12x10 after comparing it to the S12 on targets. Said it was more sensitive to small targets and that they feel the S12 would have missed a gold chain they found because of this. The 12x10 is lighter than the S12 with no coil cover.
