Me too. That was the machine I was hoping for...An Xcal/Sov waterproof hybrid with LCD screen (to at least show VDI numbers) that was light and cheap to compete with the AT Pro. Oh well, I really suspect the Minelab techs got drunk in a bar one night with the Whites techs and the ideas got a little crazy.

Or they like buttons that you can adjust on the fly instead of stopping and turning knobs. They can't please everybody. I got rid of my GT because I preferred the buttons. This new machine will not please everyone but I am sure it will please many. HH

That's interesting, because it's much easier for me to say turn a knob to do things like change the threshold level, set the notch, or adjust discrimination....Then having to scroll through menus. But to each his own. There are days when I miss playing with a computer screen, but most days I just want to hunt. All I really care about is raw power for depth.

Critter you don't have to scroll through menus on the E-Trac unless you want to change programs. Combine and Quick mask along with sensitivity is all just a button away. You can go from beach to relic mode in 5 seconds. 10 programs + 4 factory modes in seconds. Some prefer buttons some knobs. Just because YOU prefer a certain machine because you like it don' t criticize others that prefer something else. I liked my GT I just like the E-Trac better. We are in the same church just in a different pugh. HH
