[attachment 205233 ih2.JPG] Here are some ih finds since 3-2010. The readings from these were 12-29 12-30 12-31 12-32 12-35 12-39 13-30 14-28 14-32 15-33 15-35 These numbers seem to vary with soil mineral content and corrosion of the coins. The 12-29 14-28
[attachment 205234 ih5.JPG] and 14-32 applied to the coins 1864 thru 1879. Very different in pitch coming thru the headphones. The coin depth of all was 2 inches to 9 inches deep. The 1877 was 7 inches down and gave a 14-32 reading. I have a few more to post later

Awesome finds! The IH is one of the few coins that eludes me in my area. I have yet to find my first one which has been strange to me but it is what it is. Your collection is cool. Thanks for sharing. HH -Marc

[attachment 205570 v6.JPG] This post is a part of the previous one. Wasnt enough room. The 5 indianheads and the separate pile of extra ones complete those in display shown previously. Shield nickels and v nickels were found at depths ranging from 4 to 10 inches. Readings varied from 4-8 12-12 13-13 12-13 13-13 15-15 14-14. I have no idea how to even grade these coins. Some I turned over to show the backs because dates and features were not visible or slightly so. I think the 1886 v is the best find of these. Most unique is the 1868 shield nickel ,being if you look close enough, you will see the outline of a square pull tab on the front. How that tab got on top of it 9 inches down I WILL NEVER KNOW. This is where the 14-14 15-15 reading came from! The 4-8 reading was also from a shield nickel 8 inches deep. Kind of puzzling?? Coins and relics shown together here are last weeks finds. Thought Id throw it in. One thing really crazy is the reading of the 1906 ih on the end .It read at 1-37 even at cross scan walking around. No other reading. Solid signal. 7 inches deep. Please GIVE ME INPUT IF YOU HAVE EVER SEEN THIS.Its really weird. Thank you . Karbarcoinin
