Indians! Four in one!

Nick A

New member
Got out for about 45 minutes today at the park. I dug four wheaties (1927, 1936, 1941, 1946, 1951-S) and then hit one of the most awesome eight cent pocket spills I've ever found. Four Indian head pennies and four wheats in one hole. The Indians were 1884, 1895, 1903 and 1905. The wheats, 2-1917, 1918 and 1919.

Thanks Nick. Appreciate the pictures and the stories. This just goes to solidify a theory of mine. I got to thinking about this when I first started detecting. I do not give it any thought at all about using a 1964 penny in my change today...yet that coin was minted 46 years ago. So I think it people back then would not have given it a thought about having a penny 35 years older than their newest date in their pocket, it was commonplace. Boy! If they only knew...they could've really messed up our detecting strategies!!

Great story and great finds Nick,I love pocket spills.

Good one Nick !

Hey Nick!!

That's a cool spill of wheats and Injuns!! :super:

I remember finding a similar spill, but with 2 fewer injuns, and an 1892 dime, that was ruined by being sandwiched by the copper coins.

Congrats,
