Is anyone having interference problems with their SE Pro coils?

Neil

Well-known member
I just got bought a new SE Pro and have had it out a few times and on 3 beaches I reguarly hunt it falses alot, no matter the settings. Only on certain parts of the beach but never had this problem before and last night even went back to one of the locations and put my X12 on my explorer to see if it was the machine and the X12 ran smoothly. I spoke to Dick at Minelab and he said they are more sensitive than the other coils so Id like to hear if anyone else is finding this with their coil also. Im trying to decide if I need to send it back in or this is a characteristic of it. Ive used many detectors on these beaches and although there are powerlines and a radio tower(for the beach guards) Ive never had this problem.
Thanks much,
Neil

My SE Pro has been rock solid Neil. I hunted right under power lines yesterday with no adjustments needed. Come to think about it, I found a 36 quarter right under that power line that was 9 inches deep.

Nope ....never...I have had it in the surf.....but a guy I know has had problems with his....so yes send it in....it is rock solid if it is ok...beach finds are deeeeeeeeeepppppppp!

The only time mine starts to chatter is when I get dirt under the coil cover- which is easy to do because those sides act like little scoops...clean it out and see if that helps.

If this coil is gonna make the Explorer chatter with a little sand in the cover then it would never work for me. I mostly beach hunt and would have to be pulling the cover off every 5 mins to clear it or pull the cover off altogether, which might not be a bad idea if the warranty still covers the coil.
I will see what Dick says tomorrow.

Thanks much,
Neil

Mine is fine. I am so happy I got it. The slimline coils were a piece of crap and I got so frustrated with it that I bought the FBS1050 for it before the Pro came out. I only know of one other pro coil problem. So I would send it in and ask for a new one.
