IS THERE A NEW E-TRAC COMMING????

GPX 5000/4800 just came out, and I know this is PI and not FBS. They may be exhausted from that release.

If I got a new ET then would it be my back up or would the one I use now be my back up? This current one works slick except for the weak screen. Hey ML, Gorilla glass!

I agree with all thats been said with regards a new lightweigh, cordless Minelab whatever they name it.

Iam happy with the Deus, but having been a Minelab man since the early days if they do have such a machine then I will have one of the first ones available.

I have had my Deus for 20 months so there is only 4 months warranty left and the timing would be perfect.

If Minelab dont bring out a new machine to match it then I will buy another new Deus with the money.

I watch with interest..Jerry.

I hope not. I just got the one that I have! A couple of years from now? Now that's a different story.....

The only thing Garrett did was to tweek the freq on the AT Pro and re-badge it. It's not a "new" machine.

For the most part that appears to be true. But the ground balance "range" sure sounds interesting for prospecting and detecting in general. It was discussed in the video. I think people are going to be more cautious purchasing them after the AT Pro problems. I do think those problems are resolved and if the complaints don't make it to the forum, might be a really good unit. Interesting that this new machine is only 3Hz more! (From 15 on the AT Pro to 18 on the gold). Looks a lot like what Teknetics/Fisher did with the Omega and then Gold Bug regarding building from one unit to another - Both of those units have sold very well and do extremely well for the money. I hope Minelab does that with the E-Trac. - Wireless headphones, lighter, better balance, programmable, USB, backlight, faster recovery, etc. I'll be at the front of the line. ;-)

Anyway, I do hope we see a new unit from Minelab in the form of an Etrac II. If it isn't released in the next couple of months I doubt they would release it in mid winter but anything is possible.

When they do come out with the E-Trac 2 how about ...

( 1 ) - (As some else posted before) - Auto + 5 Sens. - make sense ?
( 2 ) - A more accurate Gold / Nickel target ID - if possible ?
( 3 ) - Anti glare display screen !
( 4 ) - Wireless Headphones !

Definitely need the Auto +5, you should have the option of increasing the auto sens to a meanfully higher level, and beyond the point of stability, if desired, without giving up the auto advantage of computerized frequency optimization, like you you do when choosing manual. Why not offer individual manual freq sens control?

They need to make nails not come up as CO 47s. Greater recovery speed. Reduce weight. Options for real mineralized areas, adjusting individual frequency sensitivity manually. Real advanced options like the V3i, where you can tweak or control everything. Remove the wizard's curtain.
