Couple days ago, they got 10 inches of snow about 90 miles north of me. Weather guesser said temps could hit upper 40's here today, so I packed up the dynamic duo and headed to the spot I hit weekend before last. Hunted for about 30 minutes before I got the first IH cent. Followed soon after by a badly worn Seated dime (looks like it may be an 1838 ), several more IH cents, an early Wheat and a Buffalo nickel. Hit an hour "dry spell" so headed for the truck. Walking back toward the truck I picked up another IH and an 1882 Seated dime. Totals for today's hunt were the 2 seated dimes, 8 IH cents, (80, 81, 89, 90, 98, 04, 05 and one that looks like it might be an 88 or 87) 1914 Wheat and the 1918 Buffalo. The copper in this field always comes out looking like crap. I've tried keeping them wet and letting them dry. Nothing seems to work. So today I took along a small bottle of Olive oil and dropped the IH in there when I dug them. Too soon to tell if that is the answer as they still look like crap. HH Randy
