It seems there is considerably more silver coins lost over the years up north than down here in the south. Two weeks ago we had a good 8" of snow and it stayed around for a couple of days only.
Well here's my assessment. With the ice and snow was here for only a couple of days when it melted, at three places I traveled to just after it was gone there were coins on top of the ground and asphalt/concrete. They had apparently been dropped in the snow and were not picked up. I picked up a handful of clad on my 3 stops. Makes me wonder if with large amounts of snowfall every year like up north gets that coins over the decades even centuries have been lost in the snow only to get covered by mud when the thaw comes and they become targets for the MD'ers up there in later years. Sounds like a good reason to me, what do you think?
