Just Curious.....

How many of you hunt with the factory programs and if so why? (I haven't much yet, use my own, but I have this nagging feeling that I'm missing something in terms of effectiveness.)

The first 3mos. I just used all preset, and found 7 rings don,t know how much coins. Then I started to set my own settings and not done as good on rings, still find loads of coins. Don't know if I got all the rings in the parks I hunt or just got my setting wrong. I think I am going back to presets. If you get one thing wrong for your ground then you get hurt. All the presets work good for me. flintstone

99% of the time i use the Sifter program, tried several others but keep coming back to the sifter. Where there is a lot of bottle caps the sifter works much better, just draw it back and it will give you a decreasing tone and then a buzz.

I agree - the Sifter program is fantastic - I use it over 80% of the time myself - great in heavy iron - not made to go deep - hit's down to around 6" - nice tones !

My modes are basically Gary's Hot on V4, except I just turn the reactivity up or down to suit the site.

I would worry about factory modes, they aren't any better.

If you said I hunt in Basic 1, i would just think oh OK reactivity 2 and 12kHz with a bit of silencer.
