Just ordered an E-Trac

I just ordered a E-Trac from Kellyco toady and Tony my sales rep said I should join this site. After doing the research I got it down to the F75, Safari, V3i and E-Trac. After listening to where I live (PA) and what i want to do (everything) and telling him I didn't want to buy another detector in 2 years he said it was a no brainer choosing the E-Trac.I should have it by this weekend. I'm new to the sport and hope you'll will be patient and kind as I need help. I'm reading the manual and blogs while I wait.

Glad you got the e trac, did they tell you the new minelab model was going on the market next month?
No,I am just kidding,Hope to see some great finds. There is a lot of good people and help on here.
Best of luck. And welcome to the forum.

Have fun with it dfarr. Andy Sabisch's Minelab Explorer and E-Trac book is a very good book to learn about the machine. Even after you've had it for awhile. Looking forward to your posts.

Congratulations on the purchase. I hope you have many great finds to post. I've had mine for about a month and love it.

UPS tracking says my E-Trac should arrive tomorrow. I have a couple of questions.
1. In the factory preset for coins will it pick up gold jewlery?
2. Is the factory beach mode for salt water beaches only or will it work on fresh water beaches. If not what setting should I use.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

You can really learn a lot by reading the posts in this forum - real nice people with many, many years in this hobby here!

Reading Andy's Explorer & E-Trac book ( a must have ! ) over and over and just spending as much time in the field with your machine as possible seems to be the way to go.
I'm newer to this hobby - only one year now - I have approx. 400 hrs. on my machine and I'm really comfortable using it now - but I still have a lot more to learn !

It seems like all of the high end - more complex metal detectors come with a big learning curve - but once you get to know your E-Trac - you'll be making some great finds for sure !

Good Luck ! --- Mark
