Minelab Excalibur Pinpoint Modification

Hello,
For anyone that has had the MInelab Excalibur pinpoint modification performed I have a question. Did you have the cable running from inside of the detector that comes out of the back of the detector cap and then goes to the handle pinpoint button on the handle hardwired or did you have it installed with a waterproof inline connector near the handle?
Thanks,
Joe

Had mine go out the end cap, wire to the handle, with an epoxyied waterproof toggle switch on top.
Joe Beechnut was the king of making Excal mod parts.

Where you solder the two leads on the board, you could have that dual wire go to a connector near the end cap, so it can be disconnected for easy removal. The two wires for the headphones, also on that back cap, (red & black), go to a little white connector, and to the two leads from the board.
The front end cap, coil wires, are soldered directly to the board. The same as with the two power wires. I always use a little shrink tubing as Minelab typically does not. Old habit I guess.
Actually, the handle wire I had, it went to a connector on the end cap so in case it failed, it made it easier to replace.
