My loot from hunt with Dr.Bob yesterday including a 1914 D key date :thumbup:

The key date is the 1914 D Buffalo nickel.We had a great time and dug a lot of "goodies" and one silver each.

Some hints that the site is significantly older than the coins indicate. I hope you pull a drop from the early days next time you are there!

I got one a few years back. Do you think it is getting a boost from it's more famous mint mate, the cent? Or did the mint melt a bunch?

Not sure but I was wondering the same thing as mintage numbers do not warrant the book price compared to others.
