My new "photo shoot" buddy

I have been wanting one of these for as long as I can remember. But because of bad knees, lack of funds, etc etc, I couldn't get one. It sure is a fuel sipper. It's a 2013 Honda Metropolitan scooter 50 cc's. 117 mpg, 1.2 gallon tank. My truck only gets 11 mpg in town. Now I can get to all my local parks and other venues for picture taking really cheap. It has auto trans (no shifting) top speed of 40 mph, (had it up to 38 mph) on level roadway. You never think how fast 20 mph is when driving in an enclosed vehicle, till you go 20 mph on a scooter, I have ins. on it, though not required in Michigan, (wife demanded it) I wear a helmet, though not required here, motorcycle deaths are up 24% since Michigan done away with the helmet requirements:stretcher:. I am not STUPID, but don't ask my wife:nopity: The color of my scooter is Pearl White with milk chocolate brown seat. There is 22 liters of storage under the seat, it will hold a full face helmet, I wear a half helmet, much cooler when hot out, plus you can hear more of what's going on around you, very important when riding a scooter. The pictures were taken with my old FujiFilm S2000HD bridge camera. I drove to my fav park, walked my scooter under an extended tree branch and took several shots, I walked it into place because behind the scooter is all downhill and I am not practiced enough with slow acceleration and braking at the same time:yikes: I can put my camera bag under the seat and up front there are two molded storage compartments that hold 1 liter bottles or thermal coffee bottles. Next year I am buying the windscreen for it, can't afford now, it's polycarbonite. NGE

Cool! I have always been interested in them for gas saving.

Say, do they make one that goes 75-80 mph? I know its MPG would be nowhere near as high, but still would be a great gas saver.

They sure do, I think you're looking for at least 150 cc's. They have them in scooter style and full blown motor cycle style. Most all scooter styles have auto transmissions. Just Google Honda scooters, or Aprilia scooters (Italian made). Do not fall for the real cheapo's, they are made in China and are junk. Stick with Japanese, Italian. Piaggio, Aprilia, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, etc etc.....nge

Also, if you want a really nice scooter......google Suzuki Burgman........nge

Wow, even with a 150cc engine they can get over 100mpg. Amazing. Someday!

have fun and at the same time assist you in getting around for taking pictures. Glad to hear that you are wearing a helmet for protection. Thanks for sharing with the Forum. Kelley (Texas) :)
