We got permission to hunt a field where an old school used to be in the 1800's and it yielded a couple of goodies. An 1868 two cent piece and this neat padlock, sorry about the glare but I just oiled them. The lock has a patent date of 1879 and is called a Good luck lock. There is one on Ebay right now in excellent condition and the bid is up to $63 with two days to go......
The two center is pretty eaten up from the fertilizer but the date is still readable.
We will be back when the ground gets turned over again........ there has to be more in there to find.

Do you want me to tell you about the Lincoln Zinc cent I found?
I did find an old fence post tool for barbed wire and a LOT of beautiful colored broken thick glass. This is a place where you need to carry one of those 5 gallon buckets to help pick up the pieces of a lost tractor that was scattered all over the field. I can't wait to go back again. HH, Nancy
