There are numerous posts in regards to 15 wot vs. s-12 with explorers besides the obvious less target separation with a larger coil can etrac users give me feed back on depth capability you have experienced over the pro coil ?

I only use these two coils for the beach. I feel I get an inch or two deeper with the WOT, but it's a beast to swing (don't like using bungee cords). I love my S-12 because I can swing it all day long.

If anything you will loose depth with the larger coils on penny size targets and smaller in average soil conditions.White sand will not cause the same loss of depth in most cases while high mineralized soils will cause even greater loss of depth.

Do not use the S-12 on your Explorer use the X-12. The X-12 Stealth is for Explorer, E-Trac and Safari's. The S-12 is made for BBS machines the Soveriegn and Excallibur. I have not used the WOT but have friends that like them but I do use the X-12 and it is a very good coil for my machines and my soil down here in TN. Bryce Brown the moderator on the Explorer forum has put in a lot of time and effort in testing coils of different makes and sizes and has that information on the Explorer forum. If you have'nt read his field tests I suggest you go there and check the site out before you buy a coil. I'm sure the information you get from his field tests will help you make the right decision on a coil for the type of hunting you want to use the coil for. HH :minelab:

I stand corrected x12 for the etrac over all thanks for your input ground is starting to get hard maybe its time to change tactics put on 8 inch sunray and work through the trash used it just for a short time found military button probably dates after 1900.Maybe I need to think smaller coil for deeper dimes and half dimes.Again thanks for all your responses ,other machines I own mxt , tiger shark, musketeer with the metal housing.

The X-12 is a very fine coil I just got one and have used it a couple of times, first target I dug...Large Cent 8" down and on edge!
