New Garrett ??

Hi everyone.
A few days ago, I stumbled across this image online.
To me, it looks like a Garrett concept design for a new type of detector.
The resemblance to White's detectors is obvious to me (specifically the coil and shaft).
Combine that with the improved features of the Spectra series, and I think it would be a winner.👍👏🤞😎
But I don't know any details for sure...

I really like the design and hope this is a possibility in the near future . I started detecting in 1972 and Whites, Garrett , Fisher and Tesoro were the main stay but as technology improved not everyone kept pace. Some closed shop and others are still here but seem to have to play catch up with other more popular brands . I was happy with tone hunting with my Garrett AT4 but fell into the trap with the latest and greatest and believe Garrett could be a major player in the highly competitive sport detector market . The old story is still true that it has to be under the coil to find it , at times it isn't a new detector but a new location . The possibility of a new Garrett is exciting with real world usable features , maybe this is the one to set the bar .

I wish Garrett would pickup Tesoros.

With White's MXT ground tracking and confidence blocks.
And Tesoros iron reject.
With the ability to see thru a bed nails better than most every machine I've run.

Even better than my Sovereign GT.
Clearer and faster by miles.

That combination with the new tech they've developed would be a Killer.

Its probably and AI fake. Getting tough to tell the difference between real & Memorex...Im dating myself !!! :D :D :D :D

Somehow, we are never satisfied with what we have. Constating wanting bigger and more. The only thing that would impress me is a machine that could
tell the difference between gold and other metals. Otherwise, everything nowadays is a crap shoot.

Just recently someone asked me to find a gold stud earring in their lawn. I waved the matching stud to get an idea the number range, '3' on the 1-100 Nox 900.
It was lost last year and owner knew the area it could be located. I thought it would be a slim to none chance but I gave it a shot. It was a manicured lawn and with this heat, I didnt want to start digging holes all over the place. I dug a few pieces of foil and that was it. I told them honestly, in detecting the beach for 25 years, Ive never found a gold stud earring. Have a ton of silver stud but no gold studs. I have found gold earrings but much bigger. Even the silver studs come in low.

Finding a gold stud in wet sand or even dry sand would be a game changer. However, with the price of gold nowadays, the odd of find gold is so rare, its pathetic. You need a big cut in a very old beach to bring up the gold.

Cant wait to read the reviews on the new Icon X. interested reading but I think its just and in-between price point machine. We all have top of the line machines, why step down ???

Looks like an AI fake to me. But it would be nice to see Garrett bring out a new High end that would compare to the likes of a D2 or Manticore, or Legend2 . The current lineup doesn’t get it.

That's the reason I hang on to my old Explorer xs.
Blank the screen.
Scan the other earring.
Open the blocks one size over the scanned earring.
Lock it in. And go.
Best machine I've ever found for missing earrings.

I'd be very happy if Garrett would bring back the V3i in an ultra light submersible with today's tech of faster recovery speed and finer separation.

I do believe that would be a very popular machine.

Nothing new just a light weight upgrade.

That’s what I thought at first, too.
But when I took a closer look at the coil mounting and the labeling, I thought it might actually be an AI concept study by Garrett.
Anything is possible. I also know that AI is constantly getting better and more sophisticated.
But this image shows what might be possible.
And Garrett owns the rights to the technology.
In any case, I’d love to test one out.
And micro-jewelry is a whole different ball game.
Thomas Dankowski wrote about that quite some time ago.
JMHO - Happy Hunting & Have Fun

I didn't find that reading on the Fisher's site so I ad it here...

The owner of the earring told me I didnt have to look for it. The Mother gave the daughter a pair of diamond studs for some special occassion.
It was the Mother that asked me to look. The lawn was too manicured and I didnt want to cause damage this time of year. Too hot and dry.
Maybe another time in the winter.
