Can't help but see the ACE 250 being sooo talked about.. is it really that good?

And with me window shopping..... is there anything I should get with it at a discount price..?

Do I need a tumbler for land in chicago area... it looks like I will be hitting the parks big time...
we have some where the horses walk .. and I'm sure there is plenty of goodies.. to be found..

and coils.. you think? and can I do shallow water with it.. and is it my mistake that there is a housing for it.. that makes it waterproof..?

Wait I just thought of something.. why can't they make a waterproof housing for it.. like they do for some digital camera's

Looking forward to being known here...

Welcome to the forum!!!

250 isn't water proof. And for how good it is, read my new post and you'll see.

The 250 is touted as a lot of bang for the buck. Compare it's features at the price point. And it's one of the big manufacturers instead of some off the wall stuff.
The 4.5 sniper is also a nice coil for the cost. It's effective especially for trashy areas.
The Garrett ProPointer is also being touted as a great pinpointer.
The 250 housing is not to be submerged under water. Coils are generally okay.

Tumbler - need a detector first to get started - a tumbler can come in after - something to do on those days when the weather isn't the best. Need to have finds first before the tumbler comes. Oh - a good digger is also worth having - the Lesche is popular.
Headphones - the 250 doesn't have volume control so if your going to use headphones, you want volume control so the ears don't bleed.

Read back post's / replies on the 250 - for the price it does many well.

O I know it's not waterproof... guys... but why can't they make a housing that is... just a thought...

It seems that it rugged too... I would hate to get it find something.. and then set it down and break something without trying.. that would really get me upset

As you have noticed, the ACE is probably the most sold detector. And it is one mean machine too! If you are going to bee a coin hunter, and plan on hunting at least a couple times a week, a tumbler is a good investment.

I really like my ACE Its found lot of stuff for
me so far... I take it and the GTI out a lot
The only waterprrof hsngs are the underater and i belive Beach modles
I may be wrong tho... as far as solid Unless your really clumsy
