New problems with Etrac!:stars:

I have been using my etrac for about 4 days now and have found that there is one big problem with it. I keep finding coins right up next to big peices of rusty iron and i get these coins with rust bound to it and they are a real pain in the @$$ to clean! Anybody have any suggestion on how to get rust that is stuck onto a copper token? LOL

Belt sander . . . . .

Just kidding of course.

101numberlock- Try this.

Get yourself a rock tumbler, Put your clad, nickles and aluminum together to be cleaned and your copper, copper zinc clad, and bronze into another pile to be cleaned. Go buy yourself some aquarium rock. Put enough rock to fill your tumbler about half full, add a little liquid dish soap and enough water to cover the coins and rocks. Do not clean your clad and copper together as it will turn your clad copper colored. Tumble your coins six to eight hours and you'll be pleasantly surprised how nice and clean they come out. You can clean a lot of coins and tokens at one time and it's the best cleaning job I've ever seen.

Send them to me Post Paid and I'll CLEAN them up for you.....:wiggle:

Cordles Dremel Model Stylus will do good job on most of non valuable coins you have clad, non collector wheats, nickels, tokens, etc.

well not to be a smarty pants. but if the token is over 100 years old you better soak it in olive oil or wd 40. i found a token with a tree on it..thought it was a piece of crap until i looked it up....dont tumble it unless you know for sure its worth nothing....you never know whats in those old spots....thats what makes it so exciting.....lol...ginger
