Nice silver finds from sidewalk tearout

Goes4ever

New member
Hunted a sidewalk tearout here in town, got some goodies. Unfortunately the finds were pretty slim, whoever is doing the sidewalk tearout is digging too deep, and luckily these coins were in the side walls of the dirt. There was virtually no signals on the bottom, it was cut too deep.

I got a 1927 SLQ, 1897 barber dime, 1873 Toasted indian, it is so corroded it is not worthy of a front picture...an undated buffalo, and some wheats.

The sterling ring came from a house I hunted a bit today.

Amazing!!! Nice job finding places to hunt.
Thanks for posting,

Way too cool ... We ran across the same senario here where the contractor took way too much and the side walls became the main targets.

Thx 4 showing

your finding your fair share of oldies yourself Herb, thanks for the comments!

goes-4ever, I've seen some sidewalk tearouts where they removed too much dirt, after taking off the concrete. And yes, they can scrape "too deep", taking the coins with them. Have you considered finding out where the dirt went to, and going and detecting that? I've done this before, and found where they dumped the dirt on the edge of town, at a gully that some farmer was filling in. We detected there and found more coins. Have you considered trying to find out this info?
