How many detectorist here have back problems.
Lower back problems.
Anyone ever used the back2life back machine for their back?
What or how do you cope?

I usually go down to my right knee and do most of the digging from that position and seldom have a problem. I also use a machine at the gym that is suppose to be good for the lower back. Just bending, like at a tot lot, some times will trigger a slight pain in my lower right back portion. Those Minelabs are pretty heavy. :bouncy:HH jim tn

I have been having back problems right after detecting, the pain is just below the left shoulder blade, i'm right handed. It doesn't seem to be as bad when i have a large scoop in my left hand so i think that it is balancing me off some, i have been learning to switch off to the left hand some and also doing some barbell exercises to tone the muscle that is giving me the problem.

I will find a way to fix this problem because i will not stop detecting, just too much fun.

Hey Mark I would look into some light weights as one of the guys mentioned, build up those muscles as best you can and also consider doing some yoga. I just got a yoga dvd myself, know some people who do it, and its amazing what it does for some of my friends(and they are all 55 or older). I will be turning 55 on June 1st and have no back problems but I wanna keep it that way so Im giving it a whirl.

Now that the 70s are over, I try and stay away from any kind of drugs:lol:

I went on the DRX 9000 for my back problems. I had a sever car accident, and was going to have to go under the knife, but this has made me feel better than I have felt in 6 years.

Finding silver seems to help the pain . . .

I have had back problems for years... I started back MD this year... seems to help some just being out detecting. I find now that I can detect longer with less problems that I did when I started back... I do usually have to get on both knees when I dig... easier on the old back for me..

My lower back pain comes and goes.
I have been using my old motorcycle motocross kidney belt from the '80's for bottle digging, lifting work and detecting. Makes a difference.
My belt has now become too small to use.....

You might want to go to your local dirt bike racing dealer and see the new kidney belts they now make.

I found this on the web, they look interesting:
Alpinestars MX Air Kidney Belt

I bought an inversion table from Costco and it does the trick for me. Teeter makes one exclusively for them

Take care
