Didn't get out last weekend so I am for sure getting out this weekend and hoping to make up for the lost time. Hoping to get at least 10 Silver this weekend but we can only take what we swing our Coils over. I tried an Old Yard which was really loaded with Iron Debris. Had the Stock Coil on which I knew was a bit too much for that kind of environment so I will have to go back with the Joey Coil and see if I can't get between all the Iron. Only things found on Wednesday Night was some New Coins, 1 Wheat dated 1944-d, a Key, and a Gold Plated Ring. When I seen the Ring, I knew right away that it was Plated since it read 28 on Digital. Too high of a reading. When I picked it up, that is when I wished it would have been Real since it is a Large Band and it would have been worth over $100 in Scrap Value if it was Gold. Maybe next time! Should be more Old Coins there somewhere since the House goes back to the Late 1890's! Friday Night, Dale wanted to get out and try his New Minelab X-terra 70 at Island Park in Fargo, so I met up with him around 6:30pm. This Park still holds Old Coins but it seems like it can take up to a full days hunt just to find 1 Good Coin. Half-way thru the hunt, I called Dale over to check what I thought was a Nickel Signal about 6" Deep or so. He went over it and his X-terra 70 was bouncing around all over the place. If he got over it, it would display a -8. This should have came up a 12 so I told him maybe he had something set up wrong. This weekend, we will see if his X-terra can do any better at sites we know Old Coins are at in more abundance. Anyways, I dug down about 6" or so and seen a Nickel. I was thinking it was going to be a Pull Tab Tail or some other kind of Junk but it was a Nickel. Picked it up and seen it was a V-Nickel dated 1884. This was found on what Rick(ND) calls "Nickel Hill", since there use to be a lot of Nickels found on this part of the Park. I also found the Top of a Pocket Watch (not shown) and an Old Pin. No Silver this time but this weekend has to net me a few. We will see. Until then, Good Luck and HH.
