Omega and depth

I found a lot of old coins with my Omega. The deepest I found were around 7"-8" and hit VERY SOFTLY. So I know that was around the limit. I was hunting in very low mineralized soil, zero EMI, just about perfect conditions. I went back through that site with my V3i and only found 2 more coins which hit very low on the VDI scale (probably why the Omega missed them.) From my test garden I know the V3i is a much much deeper machine, but for the money, the Omega is a GREAT machine. The Omega also unmasks VERY VERY good in iron.

I sold my T2 for the Omega and never regretted it. The T2 was a better relic machine and better on small targets, but the Omega to me was supreme on coins and the depth on coins actually seemed better on the Omega (but I can't really say as it was a different site.)

I've found that the Omega will ony match the depth of other top line machines if the GB is set just right, if it is a little off I lose depth fast.

What is your technique/advice for "setting it just right".......and how many bars need to show before you do a reset? Always room to learn:)

Speaking of depth. The small 5" coil is amazing. easily digging 7 inch coins. Dug this gold ring last time out with it.
