I've happily been using my Omega at full sensitivity and generally no discrimination for months now. Running it "hot" is generally pretty quiet (except when I set it down.) Sometimes it does get a little chatty, especially as the morning turns into noon, for whatever emi reason. Anyway, was hunting the other day and it got a little bit chatty. I'm ashamed to say I had never used the frequency offset button, outside of on accident! (Padded gloves will do that.)
Short version of the story - The detector got really quiet. I didn't think to ever use the offset as I thought it would only help a little bit and was meant more so for hunting with other detectors.
So, if your Omega is a little chatty, please try the frequency offset...
