One down right good yard.

I've slowed my posting down some of late, but had about 1 1/2 hours of hunting that was about as good as it gets for silver coins, so decided to post them. Two other volunteers and myself were up in Nashville all this past week working on a flood victims home through a disaster relief program. The homes in the area we were working were all late 40's -50's, small and also, small yards. Thursday morning the elderly home owner and her son showed up to see how things were progressing and during the course of our conversation I asked if they minded if I did a little detecting. They promptly granted me permission. Between Th and Fri just before we left to return home I managed maybe 1 1/2 hours of swinging time in the back yard and recovered 12 silver coin, 5 wheat cents, a Peter Built belt buckle (soaking) and a couple bucks in clad. One of the best two short hunts I've had in some time. I was running the LTD in BP mode, sen. of 70, disc. 6 and 3h tones and had a little chatter. The Franklin was my 2nd to last target dug and it came from off to the side a little from a tire swing. HH jim tn

now that's a nice dozen

Hi Jim,, Hey congratulations on your silver haul...With today's silver prices that's worth about $64.04 or you made about $42.68 an hour and that's figuring it just at scrap value...Thanks for sharing....JJ

Although I've hunted some yards over the years, this one will remain pretty memorable from the standpoint of time, quantity and lack of trash. Three holes had multi coins in them between the silvers, wheats and clad. If I recall correctly, 6 of the total silvers came from three digs. Yes, it might be worth it to make another of those volunteer trips.:) HH jim tn

Jim,

What an awesome hunt and thanks for posting your machine settings. I'm gonna be hitting an old school site that closed down in the mid 40s real soon. I'm taking notes !! Great job. CCH

That is very impressive Jim tn! Looks like you are on your way to beat your incredible 2010 silver count! How deep was your deepest (just wondering if my Delta could've done what your F75 LTD did on this lawn)?

Mick, the Delta would not have had a problem. Most all the coins recoveries were 3" to 6." The half about blew my ear drums out. It was maybe 3." Thanks, and HH jim tn
