One lone Indian with wheats and Silver - The most KEY DATE Barber dime you can get!!!!!

Put in about 10 hours the last two weeks. Pulled a '17 Merc out of one local park. Went about 10 miles to another park and pulled out about 4 wheats (three of them are the 1910, '11, and '12). Also hit a 2 dime silver hole (another 17 Merc and the "KEY" date barber dime).

The next hunt involved searching for an old abandoned park. Haven't found it yet, but did manage a '51d wheat in the search. Was lucky to find that even.

Today was a good day. About 2 hours of swinging at a place I've been wanting to detect at but grass has been too tall. First hit was a 36d wheatie. Next the 1910 barber dime (its the one too shiny to see the date). Found a couple more wheats and then the 1919 Merc. Good potential there as its a big area. There's also some places to use the 2-tone ferrous as I didn't find much for pull tabs and can slaw...and some spots hit about 4-8 nails per one-way swing.

Went once during the week for about 20 minutes close by and pulled out the 1893 IH. Have you every detected while holding the 1 year old and keeping an eye on the 3 year old???:detecting::surrender:

Lastly went to a park where I've hunted before. Still haven't pulled any silver there yet, but I happened upon about 3 wheats...all were about 7" deep.

Now about the "KEY" date barber dime. Well I sure wouldn't have know it until I cleaned it up....but you have to be tickled about finding something like this. :clapping:

Do you think I ought to have it slabbed?????:goodnight: That is the most worn out silver dime I've ever seen!!!!

Take care and happy huntin'!!!

Good finds Neb. A slick Barber is still a good Barber in my book. Got to hand it to you. You are one dedicated hunter if you do it while minding a 1 and a 3 year old. Now that's a test of your persistence..... and probably a bigger test of your patience. :clapping:

I do hope everyone realizes that I was joking about the date. I haven't a clue what it was. That darn dime was totally void of any impression of a date, no matter how I held it to the light. I did find a S mintmark on the back. So as a joke I just looked up what would be the barber dime with the most value to it and sharpied it on there. My book puts the 1894s as only minting 24 of them.
