Ordered an E-TRAC today

Got an e-trac on the way. Have a question about the sounds and running it in ferrous mode.Thats the way i run my expii all the time. Seen some posts that say the e-trac wont sound the same as the expii.

If you want the most of the audio. As John said, the variability in ferrous is nominal to say the least.... Basically it is either a good tone or a ferrous tone. It is definitely NOT an explorer. It took me a lot to get past that. I still have a bit of an issue in regard to the whole ferrous / all metal issue with the Etrac, but it is a whole different beast. I hunt the Etrac using very little disc. mainly using the UK Roman Site Pattern or Extensive Nail-Reject patterns. Both offer minimal discrimination, and have served me well even in very trashy sites. That being said, you will want a small coil to work those trashy sites. All in all, I have done pretty well since retiring my EXII. Give CO a chance on the Etrac.

Thanks for the tips ,John andCrash. Am realy going to miss the sound variance. But hope to make those old sites of mine produce again::clapping:

Good luck with the new E-Trac. I really like mine !
A lot of target info. - great balance and with the days getting shorter - the display light is a real big help!
I was out a full hour later - a few time this week than I could have been with my Safari.
I really like my Safari but this is superior detector by far !
I'm not sure if the Explorer's have a display light or not ?

You will have better sound variance in conduct sounds, quite easy to adjust to after the explorer, the worst being the very deep iron as it sounds a bit like silver at first but the crosshair bouncing and it not being constant from all directions is the givaway, on ocasions i have changed over to ferous just to make sure but if in doubt dig it out. <- that never fails:thumbup:

Good luck on the new machine.
