Out of town park gave up a BLAZER Barber dime...injuns...and some more silver:cheers:

Only one way to find those tiny dimes.....Low and Slow, Spin around and Do Se Do.....it's kinda like a dance....It is not a fast pace machine but a Bloodhound of sorts sniffing around the junk to find the treats. Nice hunt Bryce...:detecting:

I have been out a few times Bryce and had a good day yesterday. I got a nice, but cheap 10K bracelet W/36 low grade diamonds. Posted on the DFX forum.

are amazing machines. I truly feel the speed with which one sweeps the machine is the key to opening a whole new world of goddies we can get to before the bulldozers do. After nursing the head cold for the last many days...then hunting all day yesterday...today I feel like somebody did the Do Se Do on my head:bouncy: :stars: :smoke:

here too. I hope I can squeeze in one or 2 more quickies in over the next few weeks though.I just won't last long:rolleyes:

I'm truly not a coin collector..but I love to collect what I find...even if it's worn and has no monitary value. I just love the hobby.

the cold stuff found us here this morning. It got down into the low20's last night and the snow is fluttering here today:ranting:
I hope we can all squeeze a few more shorts in at least. Take care buddy.

you can get a few more hunts in before the cold hits us. What are we going to do this winter when we are all cooped up?:help:

Nice Barber Dime Bryce. It's in really good condition. I wish you would record those sounds so we could hear them and get the feel of what you are saying. I can imagine it but to hear it would mean much more. I'm sure I speak for many others when I say this.

You remind me of a stallion. Get some rest and recuperate or you'll only prolong the cold. HH

because unless you have on the exact same coil...the exact same headphones...are using the exact same settings...on the exact same machine....hunting in the exact same soil conditions...you won't hear the same sounds. Whenever I hunt with other fellers'...we always take a lot of extra time to let each of us run our different machines...coils...settings...headphones...etc...over the target. The sound everyone else hears is hardly ever the same...and that's as truthful as I can be. All of those variables I mentioned play a part in the overall final sound the ears hear.
I always let people put my headphones on or I hold them out for everyone to hear as I sweep the coil around the hole....and they always hear the same thing as I do at that time.
When they run their machines over the deep target though...I hardly ever hear the same thing...and they don't either....which can be frustrating to them. That doesn't mean my settings, machine, coil, headphones, etc. are better than someone elses. It simply means that all the variables I metioned above come into play. If they are able to hit the deep target I've located...even though it might not sound the same....that's their OWN unique sound they need to remember and begin to train their ears to listen for.
If I move my iron mask setting up or down even one number on my SE...it affects the sweet sound I have grown accustomed to. The same goes for the variability setting...etc...and on down the line.
I don't do anything any better ...and probably don't know any more than the next feller' whos out there having a good time hunting. I have just spent a ton of hours experimenting over deep targets in the field...and have trained my ears to listen for a particular sweet warble that I prefer...and that my ears think is a deep coin. That's as honest as I can be...and that's why I love to meet up with people in parks and hunt with them. The problem is that I just simply can't hunt with everyone...and I also just like to have fun when hunting... and that is what it is all about for me. If we all stop every 10 minutes to compare each others signals...it breaks the "groove" each of us might be in at the time...and it can also take the fun out of the hunt.
I remember meeting up with Guvner...DrBob in MO....Nick....and Bob's cousin Mike in St. Louis a few weeks ago. It was a blast I will never forget and we all found some nice coins....while having fun comparing signals. Towards the end of a long day though...I still hadn't located that one true DEEP possible coin target so everyone could hear. I almost felt pressured to do it...and it started to take the fun out of the day. Don't get me wrong...NObody put any pressure on me...but I began to place it on MYSELF. FINALLY I located the deep target which we all got to listen to which turned out to be an 11" deep Injun.
Anyway...sorry for rambling...but I hope I explained everything.
By the way...I'm sincerely happy for you that you are finding silver now. I always keep up with your posts...and I knew how badly you wanted to pop aome out. You are now HOOKED....Silver fever is now in your blood....and you can't wait for #3 to pop out...#4...and then more. I can honestly say that after more than 30 years...I still get the same stupid grin on my face if I see silver shining at the bottom of the hole...or a nice green injun sittin' there. If I don't find anything that day...at least I had the headphones on and tuned out the stress or whatever else I needed to tune out.
Take care King...and I hope you pop some more goodies out.

Thanks for explaining that. I now know why is it just about impossible to recreate the sounds of a deepie or iffy. Made sense to me.

And you are right about being hooked. This will be my first season where I will just have to w-a-a-a-a-i-i-i-i-t-t-t-t for the cold weather to let up so I can go swinging more. I am still going out now though. Got my tracking # for the Pistol Probe. Can't wait to fool with that.

This is perhaps one of the prettiest B -Dimes that I have ever seen. Way to go Bryce!

That Barber is a beauty. I also will go as slow as possible and just barely wiggle the coil when I get the questionable signals. I inevitably dig the signal and end up with a small nail. You must have a much more discerning ear than I. Very nice coin Bryce.

do the little "wiggle"...only to end up with a tiny piece of wire while chasing deep injun hits:detecting: Gotta' dig 'em though..cause the next one might end up being a deep old greenie:thumbup:

this one was covered with goop and I could see it was pretty sweet from the reverse. The worn ones I just go ahead and wipe while hunting so I can see 'em. Not this one though.:clapping:
