Been looking forward to owning an Etrac for some time. As of yesterday, I finally have one to replace the Sovereign XS that i've used for 14 years. Besides having the obvious technological advantage...the Etrac (with X-1 probe) weighs just the same as the XS, but it is much better balanced. That should make it easier to swing for long hours than the nose heavy XS.
The Etrac will have a Sun Ray X-8 coil for those old farm sites where a lot of1840s and newer coins, including silvers (and a lot of iron trash too) have been found with the XS..... I can't wait to find what i've passed over. The season is just about over in this neck of the woods (keeping fingers crossed for some warm days), but i'll have all winter to learn enough about it to be ready for spring.
