PDA blocked:rant:

I tried to update my deus to V4 version. I connected the PDA with usb to my PC and folow the steps to the update.
One hour later I don´t see any progress. I unplug the PDA to the USB and it´s totally blocked. In the screen show "UPDATE". I can´t turn off, the buttons don´t respond.
I have no idea about doing now. Do you know any method to make a hard reset to PDA without touching the buttons?

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

have you gotten anywhere with this? I don't know what you can do other than to try again hoping that it will update properly.

I experienced the same problem. My error. Did not follow instructions exactly as written.

Follow the instructions exactly as written.

Any instructions to do an update to V4 or a return to a previous version has required connection from a pc to the Remote control as the final step(4).

During the install , there is a request where you instructed to disconnect and reconnect the Remote from the usb connection.

All should work well from there.

My problem now is that the battery is over so this solution no working for me. I plug it in the charger but do not load so i can not turn it on.

The only way I see is send it to a technical service to repair it.

If your battery is not charging, u might try taking the battery from the headphones and charging it, put in the remote and go back to update, download the 4.0 for the remote and coil to see if that works. You can then maybe get the removed battery to take a charge or buy one off fleabay for 14.00 under listing for XP Deus detectors. Or send it in if that fails to correct the issue.

There was a great idea but no working for me. The headphones works perfectly. I replace the battery between the remote control and headphones but the buttons of remote control do not respond. So I can not turn it on.

I see the coil does not load either. It´s all misconfigured.

This morning I sent a mail directly to xpmetaldetector.com in order to give me a solution.

Sorry, but the only solution for me was to send the PDA to the technical service. They reseted the PDA and now works perfectly. They said to me that it is a common problem in the older PDA.

I sent my remote control in the technical service, and I wait for answer. Fortunately remote control is under warranty.

But I do not know if such a problem is subject to a guarantee? What are your experiences?
