power overload

I just recently have had problems with my etrac and power overload. My machine shuts down and won't start again for 5 or 10 minutes. Today it refused to restart at all. Luckily my hunting partner had 2 rechargeable batteries and when I tried his it started up. After awhile they ran down and I replaced them with mine and now it worked? I spoke with a Minelab tech and he told me it maybe an issue with aftermarket coils. I have been using almost exclusively the 5.5" Sunray coil and & the 6' excelerator coil with great success. I don't wish to hunt with the 11' coil. I didn't have trouble with my Sunray coil last year , but when I switched to it this year after the excelerator it had the same problem. Let me know if anyone out there is experiencing the same issue. Thanks!

I have gotten a Voltage too high several times and shut down.
Hasn't happened for quite a while now,I cleaned the contacts on the end of the Battery!

I've had it happen. Once last year and about 4 times this year. For me it ALWAYS happened when I switched the SunRay off/on or vice versa. Seems like sometimes I don't get it switched back all the way. I've never had it NOT fire back up right away though.

I'm sorry, it says voltage overload. I used my standard Minelab coil all day today and it gave me over voltage once again. It's becoming very frustrating. It's not happening when I get over a huge target and you get the alert. It happens when I'm just detecting and without anything out of the ordinary it just shuts down. I will clean off the battery connections and see if that makes a difference. Thanks!
