Pretty lady and recent silver

So I've been hitting some different spots instead of the old parks and fining some pretty neat stuff.... the only one found in a park was the ring... I found this within the first 45 mins of the hunt... it was only about 3 " and hit 12-46

My fave is the brooch, looks to be in the style of William Kerr and/or the Unger Brothers, still researching it... looks to be turn of the century 1880 1910 i REALLY wish it had a hall mark along with the sterling stamp. i think she is mighty perty!!! Found her on a sidewalk strip abut 4" right up against a big old sycamore. She hit a solid 12-47 all way around and i figured my first silver quarter...

the Merc came from of all places a foreclosed home... My wife does Avon "mostly an an excuse to gossip with friends and do the girly thing" Any hoo i was taking her to one of her friends house to drop off an order, these things can last up to an hour, there is an early 50's park close by so i told her to just text me when she was ready... As i was pulling out of the drive i noticed the house next door posted and abandoned.... Well not being one to miss and opportunity i parked my truck and broke out the old etrac.. very first signal was the pretty good shape 41 Merc!! WOOOHOO also found a couple bucks in clad and two wheaties... shallow 2 1/2 " and 12-44 all way round

If anyone has seen this exact brooch i sure would appreciate any info online original ones can go anywhere from 60.00 up to 950.00 she sure is intricate and very a very pretty piece... thanks for looking fella's...

Cool looking ring! The brooch looks a little "art nuveau"" (sp?) to me.
Congrats.

can you not get a date from the hallmarks?...I can't read them

Great finds!

Bilko,
Thanks for the reply, on the brooch the only thing stamped is STERLING, i wish there was a hallmark would be easier to research... I think it is just a generic silver brooch of the turn of the century "Gibson Girl"...any way i think she's pretty!! :)

very...somethinglike on here:

Bilko,
Yup that's exactly what i googled too!!! (great minds think alike) i thought of cleaning her but the patina is really nice, my wife just loves it... Seems things we made in the past had more passion and a LOT less mass production ya know.... Sad we buy EVERYTHING from China nowadays :(

Very nice finds ! :clapping:
