quarter test

Johnny

New member
found this quarter , nickel and iron stuck together today at the beach. The e-trac well not get, all so my other detectors will not get it all so. I just saw it.

That would be a tricky signal for any machine using even the slightest disc. I would try to keep it whole for tests with future detecting equipment. Interesting find...

This is why I like hunt with as little discrimination as possible. Have you tried getting it with the relic mode on the Etrac, or just one or two lines blacked out?

I did low the disc. and it did get it the no. was 08.39.

I'd dig that...

I almost always run the relic pattern with either conductive/multi or ferrous/2 tone.. more often than not I run ferrous/2tone and I dig a lot but I don't miss much.

Johnny any chance you have or can check this with either a cibola/vaquero/tejon? NO don't have one of those. All I have is cz, f75 and e-trac,and to get it you have to lower the disc a lot.

Thanks,
Neil

Johnny............The E-Trac WILL get it.

Trouble is with your understanding of what " IT " is numerically.

Surely yon don't expect a 'nickel in-air' ID......do you ????????????

If you do, then I'm afraid you still have some learning to do.

Such a find as this one demands that you hunt in FERROUS audio, and just a few bars of FE masking, (sufficient to knock out general iron).

Mask out FE 35 to 27, and use Ferrous audio 2 tones or more, then dig everything......I never detect in any other way.

That should also do the trick for this combination of nickel and ferrous blob.
