You are right about being remarkable.. my girlfriend's mom emailed these to me last week and I spent a couple hours looking at them.. just awesome :super:

Great pix, thanks for sharing. When I look at a pic like the one below alot of different things come to mind, one being from the moment immediately following the pic what became of these men? I try to imagine what it was like at that moment, what were they thinking about...home, family, what they would do after the war, would they live to make another pic. Then I wonder if any of these fellows even survived or did I unknowingly see their headstones in one of the many cemetary photos, or worse, did I see a later battlefield pic of their remains lying there not realizing it was "one of those boys". Another thought that comes to mind is....did one or more of those guys sitting there on the ground, unknown to them at the moment, leave a pocket spill or some personal effect lying right there at that very moment never to be seen again till now or 50 years from now. Someone right here on this forum could have something in their collection that came from that moment. Its just moving to me. :sad:
