River hunting last night pays off!

Well my hunch paid off tonight I took the small skiff up river to new spots that I know I’ve never been hunted before..
I found two 1939 mercury dimes in about an inch of sand along the beach I was stoked! Then I started getting nickel signals I got two 1907 V nickels a buffalo no date then a nice deep high tone turned out a 1905 barber quarter man this hunts turning out great!
Then another high tone a 1945 Washington! Some clad and fishing weights this river is very densely populated from way back 1700’s so who knows what I’ll find I’m sure golds out there lots of swimmers a new untouched area can’t wait to back this weekend!
I only spent about two full hours in a 200ft stretch!!

Nice! Were you wading in the water Mark? Fresh water or ocean beach? I ask these questions as I stumbled onto an area near a river but it's too cold to venture into the water wading. It may have to wait till next year.

Thanks Ted All onshore Ted in the picture of the beach you can see all the dig holes I was in the water but found very little “old coins”this is mainly saltwater all these were found from the high tide down to low water area I really love doing river banks the find possibilities are endless !

Mark...How do you clean that silver? I am thinking about using corn cob media in a tumbler for reloading ammo. Thoughts??

Thanks guys I can use electrolytes on some or never dull it’s a cloth soaked in what smells like kerosene it’s a pic of a two Reale after electrolysis.. you have to keep a eye on the coin when using electrolysis.. and I almost always use a shovel because of all the rocks when I’m in the water a good scoop.

Its a huge river and lots of spots to detect but for the majority of it a boat is needed
