Road trip to a POUNDED St. Louis park gave up a $1000 dime.:clapping: A shocker 1916D Merc:yikes:

Dude, that is SO awesome!!!!! I am so happy for you bro:clapping:

Made me think of last Fathers day when I hunted at Forest park for a few hours. Dug a beautiful 1916 Merc in almost uncirculated shape. I was so nervous to flip it over to see if that elusve "D" would be there but it was not to be.

I dont think I could have waited as long as you did to find out:bouncy:

Thanks Bob.

I didn't have any choice about waitin' to see if there was a mint mark.

I couldn't even see the date to even consider worrying about a mint mark:crylol:

It was good to hunt with you too Dan.

We'll have to do it again sometime.

At least I know I have someone ready...willing...and able to hunt my spot with me:thumbup:...and even if I don't need any help hunting it...I know I can count on you to shove me out of the way to help anyway:bouncy:

Seriously though...I'm glad we all got to hunt together. That just doesn't happen enough for me anymore.

Keep in touch buddy

Thanks JDD. Hopefully you and G-Money can be there next time. I know you had a crap storm to clean up though. I'm just glad everyone was okay after the high winds.

Thanks Dan. Yep..it looks pretty good in the little 2 x 2.

I wish I could make those informal hunts more often...but my dad's health doesn't allow for me to do much traveling.

It will be a while I'm sure...before I get some good hunt time in again.

I kid you not bro...I got light headed and had to crouch down to make sure I didn't:puke:
I was so happy I nearly lost it:cool:

Well, I'll be damned. Congratulations. That's one sweet coin...You dig enough crud and eventually it pays off..

WOW :yikes: Sweet dime brotha!!!!! Congratulations on one great find!!!! Im finally getting a day off tomorrow so i am going to put the 6x8 SEF to the test!!! Keep them coming in man!!!!

Wow - Great find. The holy grail of dimes. How cool. Congrats man. You deserve it.

By the way, I found the exact same cub scout ring a park by me some years back. I still remember it because I thought at first it was a Chicago Cubs Ring...me naturally being from Chicago my thoughts went there when I read cubs on it, and it was around the same year they changed their logo to pretty much look like that. LOL. After looking at it closer, I soon realized...no dummy, its a cub scout ring...obviously I was never a scout...LOL

Take care Bro. Great job once again on the Merc.

~Michelob

Thanks Mike.

The whole day was strange. I NEVER find good rings...and I found 2 in probably less than 2 hours.

The rest of the day...well it was even stranger...but ALL good.

That's funny about your boyscouts ring:biggrin: Hey...it does look like a Chicago cubs ring.:detecting:
