Had another great road trip with Ray-Mo on Thursday. Made the 90 mile drive up by him and we met up around 7:45 AM. He drove the rest of the day as we hit up 3 different spots but ended up spending most of the time at 1 spot that produced really well. This is the same spot where I found my Walker half and quarter in the same hole back in May. Incidentally, that was the last time I had even turned my e-trac on.
So, after a 4 month hiatus I was rearing to go. Too bad my body wasn't because after not using some of those muscles in 4 months....... WOW, am I sore now
But, as you can see, the trip was well worth it and one of the best trips I have had in a long time in terms of silver count. I ended up with an 8 silver day!! 7 dimes and 1 Barber quarter.
We had to work hard in the recovery for each one as the ground was bone dry. Chiseling away trying not to scratch the coins (unsuccessfully a few times) and getting more tired after each hole. My wife asked why I was breathing so heavy in the video and I told her because of the workout I did getting each coin out
Because of the ground conditions, I purposely went into "super cherry picking" mode. This is why I did not find any IH cents or old nickles. Heck even most the the wheat cent signals I left in the ground for the next time when conditions are better. Because of that I am sure I did leave some partially masked or worn silver but I'll get them next time
The highlight of the trip though was watching Ray pull out an immaculate Walker Half of his own out of that spot. It was a beauty!!!
