Roscue2s First Gold Ring.

My dad and I went out to a local pool last weekend, and guess what I found. A 1962 10K gold class ring!!!! There aren't any stones or anything on it, but it was still worth the thirty seconds it took to get it out of the ground.

I'm really lucky that I didn't scatch or damage it. I had to use one of those old two-foot tall Army issued shovels. The ring was only about 4 inches down, but trucks and whatnot had made the dirt rock solid.

By the way, I used my Garrett Ace 250 and Garrett Pro Pointer to find it.

Of course, my dad, being the way he is, said it was all bent and cracked. He just can't handle when I find something more valuable than all the money he found in one day.($2.50)

Last weekend was also the first time I found more money than my Dad in one day.

Great find. WE NEED A PICTURE! That first gold ring is always special. I scrapped mine for around 60 bucks. Bwahahahahah.

Wtg roscue. Can't wait to see a pic. Both of my kids found coins before I did with my ace 250. What a great machine.

Unfortunately, cwilk, I haven't had time to figure out the picture thing yet. I'll figure it in acouple of days. Thanks for the response.

I would like to try and find the owner of the ring Bill , but that would be almost impossible because I found the ring on a military base. The pool that I found it near has probably been there for over 20 yr., so there is no telling how long the ring has been lost. That's the problem when you hunt on military bases. Most soldiers and their families don't spend more than 5 yr. at a base. The only thing I know about the ring is that it was made in 1962 by Jostens. There is also the letters "MCHS" in one of the pic. on it.I'm guessing thats the initials of the high school. On each side of the center of the ring there is a letter which spells "EM". I can only think of one school in the area that has those initials, so maybe I'll be able to find the owner.

Shame on you. I'm waiting for gold to hit $1000 or better. I've got a hunk of melted gold in with my rings that weighs about 1.5 ounces.

Bill

Congratulations on the gold ring, looks like you got command of that 250, it's one great machine. Hope you get that pic posting figured out, actually it's a piece of cake on these forums. Looking forward to more of your finds. HH Ken
