Safari to the big E

I currently have a safari, and am seriously thinking about upgrading to the e-trac. Any E-trac owners out there with safari experience that can give me some e-trac insight?

I had the Safari for a year, recently acquired the E-trac, but less than 10 hours on it. Definitely prefer 4 tones to multi-tones and there is far more user control to find the optimum settings for your area. Get Sabisch's book but for a long time use the default settings, e.g., Coin mode, with a few changes such as number of tones, Recovery fast, High Trash Density.

I had my Safari for one month - it's a great machine !
After reading a lot of posts in this forum, phone calls and emails - I finally decided to upgrade to the E-Trac - I'm very glad I did !

The ET give's you more target info. - has more control options - is much easier to swing for long periods of time ( because the handle is 15 degrees more vertical - then on the Safari or Explorer's) and comes with a lighted display. The change in the angle makes a huge difference in comfort and I like to night hunt whenever possible - so the lighted display is a very important option to me.

I also found that the time I spent with my Safari gave me a real jump start on feeling at home with the E-Trac.
They are two different machines - but they are also similar in many ways.

And be sure to get Andy's Explorer & E-Trac Book - it goes way beyond the factory manual !

Good Luck ! --- Mark
