Scored an 1856 Half Dime

I detected a spot in Goldsboro, NC a couple days ago. I found an 1856 Half Dime (the 3rd I have ever found), 2 CW bullets, some newer coins and what was probably a token which is all corroded. I can make out three arrows on the bottom, pointing to the right and a wreath heading up the right side. No telling what it was. It has been a while since I have swung the ole Fisher F-75 LTD, so the Half Dime was very welcome. Happy hunting!

It is incredible how small and thin they are. The three-cent piece, of which I have found perhaps 4, is teeny and thin.

Never found one yet nice find!!

Great job on the 1856 Half Dime. I'm still on the hunt for one. Big Congrats and Happy Hunting.:clapping:

Half Dimes are a great find - congrats !

Did you find it in some burnt material? It looks pitted and stained like it got very hot.
