Second half dollar 1902 O Barber

I went back to the house where I found my first silver half dollar, a 1953 Franklin. I didn't get to hunt as long, but did have a few good finds, 1916 merc, 1947s rosie, 1890 indian, 2 buffalos, and five wheats. My best find was a 1902 O Barber half, that's in great shape, I can't believe that my first two silver half dollars came from the same yard. When I pulled that 1916 merc out of the ground, I was praying for a D, but to no avail, it's pretty worn though. I also found a cool Paul Bunyan Center good luck token, with a reversed swastika. My girlfriend Debby came with me, and with her DFX she found an awesome 1925 standing liberty quarter, 1891 indian and a 1911 wheat. She's getting to be pretty deadly with that DFX. It's really cool that she loves to metal detect!

You mean to tell me there is no scratch across the face on the Barber half??? Mine came out with one... wasn't at all prepared for it. Nice finds.

From the tone, and the 12-47 reading I was getting, I thought it was a silver quarter. It was easy to pinpoint, but I went ahead and cut a larger plug just to make sure that I didn't scratch it. I almost fell over when that Barber half came out of that hole.

Fantastic finds. Keep it up.

Excellent Hunt, Congrats!
